The site where Bellevue is located, is characterized by a line of Medieval windmills, that span across the sea shore. These windmills date from the Middle Ages (14th – 15th centuries), and they were used for milling wheat. Luckily, one of the most well-preserved windmills is located within our hotel grounds, and we are proud to have transformed it into our unique Medieval Windmill Suite, providing an experience you will not find anywhere else!
In recent years, the original building was developed, and operated as a Hotel for several years. Afterwards, a renowned shipowner from Rhodes obtained the property and completely renovated it, giving to the building its current appearance, that resembles a ship — both at the exterior as well as in most interior areas.
After operating a few years under its previous owners, the building passed in 2018 in the hands of one of Rhodes’ most important hotel companies, Esperia Group. The company has included the property into its dynamic portfolio of hotels all around the island, and transformed it into the elegant and stylish Bellevue | On the Beach Suites, which now ranks among the top hotel choices in the city of Rhodes.
